Chinese fan factory fires in Bengaluru: Reports

BENGALURU: A Chinese factory that manufactured high-speed fan blades for the Chinese Ministry of Railways was set on fire early on Friday, a senior official at the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) told AFP.
The fire started at around 8.30am (1630 GMT) at a construction site near the rail hub of BKC and spread to other sites around the city.
A senior official said that two workers at the site suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
“Fire brigade personnel have reached the site and are trying to ascertain the cause,” said the official, who did not want to be named.BMTC spokesman Anurag Kumar said the fire was brought under control by 5.45pm.
Fire crews also extinguished the blaze.
The site was evacuated.
The official said the site was being inspected by the civil aviation ministry.
Firefighters were deployed to the site.
“They found the structure was not being maintained properly,” he said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
